July Group Class for Actors!A new Group Class for Actors begins in July!
July 2, 9, 16, 23 from 11am-1pm at the Balance Arts Center in Midtown
Do you ever feel rushed auditioning? Feel like your audition was a blur, out of your hands or like you don't know what you did? This class will explore how to orient in the room during your audition and own time, so you will be completely present in the room from start to finish. We will apply the tools of Alexander Technique directly to your audition pieces: monologues, sides, cold reads, songs, etc. I will offer you some useful exercises to orient in the space before your audition, calm your nerves and get in touch with your body!
An actor’s job is to translate the choices the character makes in the text into four dimensions – embodied in space through time. Consciousness of the space between the choices available to the character in each moment creates suspension and heightened presence.
Cost: 4 classes for $80 or $25/class.

Teaching at Opera NuovaHolly just returned from three weeks of intensive teaching in the Opera Nuova summer training program in Edmonton, Alberta. She was thrilled to work with these passionate, dedicated artists and so grateful for their trust in the process and the fabulous, revelatory self-discoveries that they made. She would like to thank her teaching partner, Harold, pictured here for his quiet wisdom. If you are in Edmonton, check out Opera Nuova's upcoming season of shows: http://operanuova.ca
